An asset is an item, thing or entity which has a certain value in a given organization. Assets are divided into the following categories: tangible, intangible, financial or non-financial. Standard ISO 55000 relates mainly to tangible assets.
The objectives of standard ISO 55000’s requirements are to guarantee or maintain the proper value of assets and to reduce management-related risks.
All firms, regardless of size or industry, whose competencies include asset management are encouraged to pursue certification for ISO 55000.
To harness and integrate all of an organization’s actions in order to accomplish its goals most efficiently and effectively, we believe asset management will increasingly prove to be the ideal method.
